Terms & Conditions


The following terms and conditions apply to all transactions on or derived from Tradingpost-Appliances.co.uk. This includes all telephone orders placed to sales lines advertised within this website. Your use of this website indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully and print a copy for future reference.

Call Charges:

Calls to our 0844 257 8222 number are charged at 3p per minute when calling from a BT landline. Charges from other providers and other types of telephones may be different.

General:

These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights. To order goods through this website you must be at least 18 years of age and accept delivery within the UK. We will treat each order for goods as an offer by you to purchase the goods subject to these terms and conditions.

Description of Goods:

All the products we sell are of a technical nature and it is not practical to publish detailed specifications of all the products. All images, descriptive matter, specifications and advertising on our site are for the sole purpose of giving an approximate description of the goods. Full detailed specifications are available from the manufacturer's brochures or their websites.

All accessories supplied with a product are subject to upgrade or change at the manufacturer's discretion. We will supply the product(s) as supplied to us by the manufacturer.

Competitor Prices:

Wherever quoted, competitor prices are sourced from information submitted to public-domain sources by our competitors or their agents. All prices published should be as accurate and up-to-date as possible. However we cannot guarantee the reliability and accuracy of the information published by our competitors.

All product specifications, images and other information published on our website have either been made accessible by suppliers, manufacturers, publications, publicists or been gathered from public-domain sources. The intention of Tradingpost-Appliances.co.uk is that all information on the website should be as accurate and up-to-date as possible. However, Tradingpost-Appliances.co.uk cannot guarantee the reliability or the accuracy of the information contained within it's pages. All the actions taken by the user of the website are the responsibility of the individual.

Payment & Price:

The total price payable for the goods will be stipulated at the time when you place your order, whether or not the order has been confirmed. We are entitled to make adjustments to the price to take account of any increase in our supplier's prices, or the imposition of any taxes or duties, or if due to an error or omission the price published for the goods is wrong whether or not the order has been confirmed. We will inform you of the correct price and offer you the opportunity to cancel the order. All prices on our website are inclusive of VAT but exclusive of delivery charges which will be payable as indicated at the time of placing your order. Please note all transactions are debited from credit/debit cards in UK pounds sterling, reference to euros on our website is a guide to the current exchange rate only. We check the euro-pound exchange rate regularly but customers must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of this guide.

Typographical Errors:

In the event a product is listed at an incorrect price due to typographical error or error in pricing information from our suppliers, tax or duty changes, we shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders listed at the incorrect price whether or not the order has been confirmed. If your credit card has already been charged and we subsequently cancel your order, we will immediately issue a credit to your credit card account to the value of the incorrect price (including delivery charges).

Payment:

On the order you must provide us with your exact billing address and telephone number - the address and telephone number your credit card bank has on file for you. Incorrect information will cause a delay in processing your order. Your order will only be processed once authorisation of your credit card has been properly received. You may also pay by cheque or postal order although we cannot despatch the goods until payment has been cleared, which can take at least ten days. C.O.D. is available on telephone orders by prior arrangement.

Availability of Goods:

All products and services are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. If we do not supply the goods for any reason we will not charge you for these and we will refund any money already paid for them. However, we will not be responsible for compensating you for any other losses you may suffer if we do not supply the goods. In the event that delays are due to manufacturing lead times, we will offer a suitable, similar product to you. You will have the choice whether to accept the alternative product offered.

Delivery Charges:

Delivery charges are calculated on the basis of one personnel with a tail-lift vehicle to kerbside only. This is due to our team not being insured to enter premises. Please advise us if delivery is obstructed by steps, narrow roads etc. so that appropriate transport can be organised. Failure to notify of an obstruction, resulting in failure of the delivery to you, will result in an unsubsidised re-delivery cost being charged to you. Please note: should you require a two person delivery team, please advise of this at the point of order and we will be happy to provide you with a quotation for this additional service. The two man delivery service is subject to availabilty and additional delivery costs. All prices on our website are exlusive of delivery charges which will be added to the price of the products at our checkout. Delivery prices quoted are for most UK mainland addresses. Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Scottish highlands, parts of the Scottish mainland and Orkney Isles, Outer Hebrides and the Shetland Isles may incur additional charges (email us for a quotation) and may also experience delivery delays. AM/PM and Saturday deliveries are available upon request, please call for a quotation on 0121 502 6266. On occasions we have special offers on delivery charges (subject to various conditions), please be aware that special offer delivery charges will differ to collection/re-delivery charges. Subsidised / FREE Delivery:

In the event that a part refund is given, we reserve the right to charge the subsidised delivery amount if the order falls below the minimum required for free / subsidised delivery after any such refund.

Delivery Times:

Delivery is normally made within 5 - 10 days from clearance of payment.

We will attempt to deliver at a time to suit yourselves, our trained despatch team will advise you of a date and estimated time of delivery. If this is acceptable, we will attempt to deliver within 2 hours of the quoted time given (excludes smaller packages and parcels). Please be aware that due to unforeseen delays due to regional traffic congestion, we do not guarantee the estimated time will be adhered to. On occasion we also use a trusted courier service. The courier team will also contact you to advise of a delivery date that is agreeable to you. Please be aware that in the event you are not available to receive the delivery that has been booked with you (either by our team or our couriers) and we have to re-deliver the goods due to a failed delivery due to the absence of someone being available to receive the goods, the company will charge a re-delivery fee. The re-delivery cost may be higher than our original delivery cost as we offer, from time-to-time, special offers on delivery costs for initial orders only. Prices for delivery may vary dependent upon fuel costs and surcharges at the time of delivery. For further information or a quotation please contact our sales department.

Major domestic appliances are normally delivered direct from stock or, in some cases, direct from the manufacturer and may take up to 2-7 working days from clearance of payment. We will endeavour to deliver goods within the times stated but goods are subject to availability and a delay in delivery of goods is sometimes outiside our control. We shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges or expenses caused by any delay for delivery of the goods. We strongly advise our customers against arranging for contractors or workmen to carry out installation of goods at their premises prior to receiving delivery of the goods. In the event that you do decide to organise contractors or workmen to carry out installation prior to your receipt of the goods, we will accept no liability for their costs.

If our suppliers or ourselves are temporarily out of stock, we will notify you of this and you should allow up to 14 days for despatch of the goods. For delays of more than 14 days, you will have the right to cancel the order and we will refund any money paid by you for the goods.

Risk:

As soon as we have delivered the goods to your door, you are responsible for taking the time to ensure you are happy with the delivered product prior to signing either the delivery or consignment note. The company will not accept any claim thereafter for either incorrect items or damages. The company will not accept notes signed for as unchecked. Due to our transit insurance policy, any deliveries signed as unchecked will be treated as goods being delivered in good condition. If the driver refuses to wait whilst you check the goods you must refuse to accept the delivery and email us at support@tradingpost-appliances.co.uk with all the details in the first instance. If someone else is signing for the goods on your behalf, you hereby agree to advise them that the goods must be checked and you accept full responsibility for any loss or damage if they sign on your behalf and fail to check. You agree to imdenify us in full for any losses we suffer as a result of you or your agent accepting goods and signing a delivery note without thoroughly checking the goods for damages.

Non-Delivery:

We will not accept liability for goods lost in transit unless we are notified within 2 days from the expected delivery date quoted to you. Once we receive notification that your goods were not received by you on the expected delivery date, we will endeavour to track down the missing items. Once we have located the items we will re-despatch them to you at our own expense. If following a period of 10 working days we have still been unable to locate the missing items, we will organise a new delivery for you.

Shortages:

It is your responsibility to sign for the correct number of packages as shown on the carrier's delivery consignment note. Any shortages must noted on the consignment note and it will be your responsibility to notify us within 24 hours from the time of delivery of any shortages.

Incorrect Goods Delivered:

How to check if you have received the correct goods:

Check the model code against the product(s) that you originally ordered. The model number is usually located on the packaging of the box. Please also check the invoice from us, this is usually attached to the item that is being delivered to you. By checking the item(s) delivered together with your original order and invoice you should be able to identify any items that are incorrect.

Reporting Incorrect Goods:

It is your responsibility to notify us of any incorrect goods supplied within 48 hours from receipt of delivery. You have the option to refuse the delivery of the incorrect goods (make a note of the incorrect goods received on the consignment or delivery note).

Please note: Goods must be returned/received in the original packaging 'as new' and in full working order with all accessories enclosed. In the event that goods are returned to us with inferior packaging and/or there is writing on the packaging then this will warrant the goods as unfit for resale, in this event a repackaging charge (up to 25% of the goods' value) will be payable by you prior to any additional despatches being made to you. In the event that accessories are missing, you will be charged for the full price of the accessories and the cost will be payable by you. Once incorrect goods have been received by us, and we have inspected the returned, incorrect items to ensure the items have been returned to us 'as new', we will proceed to depatch the correct order to you. In the event goods are inspected and are found to be unfit for resale we will require the repackaging fee to be paid in full prior to making any further despatches to you.

Changed Your Mind?/Cancellation Rights:

You are entitled to withdraw from this contract within 7 days of delivery of the goods for a full credit or refund less any applicable delivery/collection charge incurred by the company. To return non-fault items, you are required to complete a returns form within the required time limit of 7 days from delivery & email it back to us. You can download a returns form from here. Please email the completed form to support@tradingpost-appliances.co.uk.

Please note in the circumstance of non-fault return/you have changed your mind, the company reserves the right to charge a reasonable administration fee in addition to any delivery charges incurred by ourselves. The goods must be unused and 'as new' in their original box and packaging including all manuals and accessories. Goods received in any condition other than 'as new' may be returned back to you and re-delivery costs will then apply, the re-delivery cost must be paid prior to the goods being re-despatched to you. Re-delivery costs will be higher than the original delivery costs (if any) charged for the initial delivery of the goods. Please refrain from writing on the box (an address label is accepted). Should there be writing on the box, this will warrant the item unfit for resale and no refund will be provided.

It is your responsibility to return the goods to us. Please ensure that returned goods reach us in a good 're-saleable' condition (see above). please return your items, together with a copy of your original invoice, to:

For larger items (pallet deliveries) please be aware that the costs to send larger items back to us may be considerably higher than you were originally charged delivery for by us. We strongly advise you to take out sufficient carrier insurance. In the event that goods are not returned to us in a re-saleable condition no refund will be made to you.,

In the event that you have not received delivery of your goods and provided that the goods have not already been despatched to you and you wish to cancel your order, we request that to avoid any administration costs being deducted from your refund that you cancel within 24 hours of placing the order. Thereafter a reasonable administration fee will be deducted from any refund requested.

Faulty Returns - Dead on Arrival:

A product is deemed to be 'dead on arrival' if it shows symptoms of hardware failure preventing basic operationupon it's first use out of the box. In such instances, please contact customer support on 0121 505 6266 within 7 days from the delivery date. You can then either return the faulty item directly yourself, or we will organise a collection from your premises. Upon receipt of the goods and confirmation of the fault by our technical engineers you will be offered the following options:

  • 1. A replacement - this item will be shipped to you at our own expense.
  • 2. A repair - the repaired item will be shipped to you at our own expense. Please note that once repaired the product is no longer eligible for replacement.
  • 3. A refund - provided the item has been verified faulty and is complete with all accessories in it's original box and packaging. Where accessories are not returned then the cost of the lost accessories will be deducted from your refund.
If the product is not deemed to be faulty by our technicians then you will be offered the following options. These options are dependent on the goods being returned to us in an 'as new' condition, in the original packaging together will all accessories. Please be aware that we will not accept any integrated/built in appliances once they have been fitted and we offer no refund in these circumstances for either these types of products. In the event that the goods are not returned in their original packaging or if the condition of the packaging is poor and/or the packaging has writing on the box, an additional repackaging charge may also apply up to 25% of the original order value. Where accessories are not returned, then the cost of the lost items will be deducted from your refund. If the products are deemed not to be faulty, you have the following options:
  • 1. Return of the goods to you - the cost of re-delivery will be payable by you.
  • 2. Refund - refunds are not always available in this circumstance, the possibility of a refund is dependent upon whether the manufacturer will accept the non-faulty item. In the event the manufacturer will not accept the return, the goods will be returned to you less delivery and collection charges. In the event the manufacturer will accept the return of the non-faulty item and in the event that you do not wish to accept the return of the goods to you, a refund will be processed for you. Please note: In this event, the company reserves the right to deduct any delivery/collection/repackaging charges incurred by the company together with our administration fee. Furthermore, the refund will be subject to a restocking charge that is imposed on us by the manufacturer. The restocking fee is a minumum of 25% of the original order value - however, where the manufacturer restocking fee exceeds 25% of the original order value, the additional charge will be applied and deducted from your refund. For further information on manufacturer's restocking charges, please contact our sales team.

    The manufacturer's guarantee will apply to all items reported to be faulty from 7 days after delivery. This returns policy does not affect your legal rights.

    Other:

    We strongly advise you to read our full terms and conditions of sale prior to proceeding to place your order. In placing your order we assume that you have read and understood our terms and conditions and accept the terms and conditions as such. You will own the goods once we have received your payment in full. We do not offer any credit facilities at present. we will issue you with an invoice upon despatching the goods to you. Failure by us to enforce any of these terms and conditions will not affect our right to enforce the rest of these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions are subject to change at any time without prior notice to you.

    Product Guarantee - General (UK):

    The terms and conditions of the manufacturer's guarantee cover all products supplied for a period of 12 months. This gurantee specifically excludes faults caused by accident, neglect and/or misuse. In addition, it does not cover routine maintenance (cleaning of dirty filters, etc.), consumables (plug fuses, cables, batteries, etc.), cosmetic damage and setting of timers. the full cost of the service call will be charged to your credit card account if our engineers find no mechanical or electrical fault with your product. This does not affect any statutory rights that you may have. We periodically offer a free extended warranty, this extended period of warranty applies to spare parts only and does not include the labour charge for the fitting of any replacement part or product. This extended period is secondary to any manufacturers free parts replacement extended period and also exclude consumables such as light bulbs, filters, dustbags, belts and any other part that is recommended to be replaced by the manufacturer within the timescale of the extended warranty period.

    Please also note that manufacturer's guarantees are without exception covered within the UK mainland. If ordering products for use outside the UK mainland please call our sales department or contact the relevant manufacturer for non-mainland guarantee enquiries.

Product Guarantee (non-UK):

Please be aware that all non-UK deliveries are assumed to be trade business-to-business transactions with the responsibility of checking relevant destination guarantees being the duty of the purchaser.

In the event of warranted goods being covered by manufacturer guarantee at the destination but beyond economical repair we would exchange these goods within the guarantee period provided the faulty goods were returned to us and the replacement goods collected or transport of the goods arranged by the purchaser.

Rapide - 5 Year Guarantee:

With careful installation and proper care, your Rapide furniture will give you years of trouble-free service. However, in the unlikely event of any defects arising in the first five years due to faulty manufacture or materials, Gower guarantees to repair or replace the faulty components provided they have not been subject to any form of maltreatment. This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights. In the interest of continuing design development and product improvement, Gower reserves the right to amend or adjust specifications without prior notice. Colours shown are as accurate as technically possible. Wood is a natural material with an endless variety of texture and grain. Variations evident on installation should diminish over a period of time when pleasant uniformity should emerge.

Double the Difference:

We refund the double the difference of any genuine price by any other internet retailer. We want you to order with complete confidence at Tradingpost-Appliances.co.uk which is why we offer a Price Match Promise. If you see a better deal on the web from a competitor, who also has the product in stock, within 7 days after purchase we'll aim to match the deal before purchase or refund double the difference after purchase. The offer must be identical, i.e. same model number and colour including delivery prices & options. Offer matched or the 'refunded, double the difference' will be the sum total of all appliances purchased on the same order, Individual products within a one order will not be considered for this offer, if the comparable supplier is not selling the whole of the products at a lower price including delivery price and services this offer will not apply. Goods offered by the competitor must be new, boxed appliances and not ex-display, seconds, etc. Only competitors offering official UK stock (i.e. not 'grey'/paralell-imported) can be considered. Products must be in stock and available for immediate despatch. We must be able to verify the offer through a published website or sales line. In some cases a written quotation may be required. Any price match will only be considered if it is deemed to be commercially viable for the company. Our prices are subject to supplier price variation, any fluctuation in suppliers prices within 7 days after purchase that affect this offer may void any claim. Our own periodically reduced prices and sale reductions may be subject to manufacturer subsidies and as such are excluded from our price match promise. Claims for refund of the double difference can be made within 7 days of purchase.

We are not an independent price comparison site and where shown comparative prices are prices advertised by competitors at that time. Competitor prices shown are selected by us and are not chosen at random. Due to the nature of competitor advertisements delivery charges may or may not be taken into account.
